Siskiyou Land Conservancy
Protecting California’s Wild North Coast and Rivers Since 2004

Siskiyou Land Conservancy is asking the federal government to intervene to enforce the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and other laws in order to bar use of toxic chemicals on lands that surround the Smith River estuary. For decades the state of California has refused to provide this enforcement.

Please contact the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Calfornia here.

Please also contact Representative Jared Huffman here.

And state Senator Mike McGuire here.

The Smith River is among the nation’s wildest and most biologically important river, so even if you don’t live near the watershed, you should contact the above offices, and your own federal representative, and ask them to take action to protect the vital species of this great watershed.
